Title: College made them feel equal. The virus exposed how unequal their lives are.

Brief Description: In college, many students feel equal. They eat the same food, wear the same uniforms and live in the same dorms. But they are not all returning to the same conditions. Some life in luxury and others in squalor.

Future Implications:In the short term im sure home conditions will affect the grades of students. If home life isnt that great you may be stuck working and providing for your family or caring for a sick loved one instead of homework. This could cause students to drop out of college all together, all it takes is one bad semester.

The University of Nebraska system has already done it but required students seeking financial aid to take the tests. The University of California system debated becoming test-optional but a task force of UC professors recommended not becoming test-optional. Meanwhile, the chancellors of UC Berkley and UC Santa Barbara have endorsed becoming test-optional. This process is called Inclusive Access. Some student advocates are opposed to this plan because the students have to buy the program and the college also bills them for the service of providing the program. Publishers claim that these digital textbooks are cheaper than the physical alternative. Students disagree with this on the grounds that they don't have a price for the physical textbooks to compare to the digital textbooks and the publishers are sometimes allowed to raise the prices of their textbooks if enough students don't sign up.
